<==What is this "HTML By Hand" image about?

<==(Look LEFT!)

HTML is "HyperText Markup Language." Normally, folks use a special program to "generate" a web page.

In my case, I use a text-editor or a word processor to type the text in HTML language; -In other words, I "manually" generate my web pages by TYPING the "HTML text." The following is a small sample of what is needed to make up a small portion of the this web page that is just above the next picture:

(The above is a sample of how this small portion of this web page was generated.)

My web page is generated and maintained "by hand," as I type the HTML "text" by hand. (Hence, the "HTML By Hand" statement at the left.)

HTML is a computer language devised to allow website creation. These websites can then be viewed by anyone else connected to the Internet. It is relatively easy to learn, with the basics being accessible to most people in one sitting; and quite powerful in what it allows you to create. It is constantly undergoing revision and evolution to meet the demands and requirements of the growing Internet audience under the direction of the È W3C, the organisation charged with designing and maintaining the language.

The definition of HTML is HyperText Markup Language.

HyperText is the method by which you move around on the web Ñ by clicking on special text called hyperlinks which bring you to the next page. The fact that it is hyper just means it is not linear Ñ i.e. you can go to any place on the Internet whenever you want by clicking on links Ñ there is no set order to do things in.

Markup is what HTML tags do to the text inside them. They mark it as a certain type of text (italicised text, for example).

HTML is a Language, as it has code-words and syntax like any other language.

(BORED, yet..?)

Click on the above picture to see a very large PANORAMIC image, then use the BACK BUTTON to return here; This is assembled from a series of low-grade pictures that I took while I was in the bucket that was in use when the new DB-224E antenna was installed at the top of the then-140 foot tall tower. (I was positioned about ten feet above the top of the tower at this point.)

CAUTION: The full image is almost a MEGABYTE in size! -After it downloads, the full 360 degree image will be displayed, but it will be in a "compressed" form. You can then CLICK on any spot on the picture to ZOOM INTO that portion of the image. -Click again, to ZOOM OUT again. Use your cursor to SELECT, then ZOOM INTO the different places on the picture; -Eventually you will be able to to view the full (360 degree) span picture.
